It's not difficult to make your own but the ready made is better and quicker! I use it a lot for making soda farls and so I always have some in the fridge.

Try goodlifeeats.com there are several ways to make your own buttermilk - and its dead easy.  I have used the yoghurt and the lemon juice recipe, both work well.  Also saves the day if Lidl haven't got any in.  Hope this helps Karen

Yes, you can get it in Lidl, comes in tubs that look like big yoghurt pots, called Buttermilch, 500g pots.
