Walk for Life is here to help anyone within a 25ml radius of Arboleas, who is suffering from or affected by Cancer, We help pay for fuel, translation costs, towards hospital treatment, medications,  nursing and to provide mobility equipment where we can,  plus so much more. All nominations are treated with the strictest of confidence and of course we require confirmation from our clients that they are  indeed receiving treatment for cancer, this may seem harsh but we have had a case where the person concerned did not and never had had cancer, which beggars belief that you would try and defraud a charity. We are a small charity completely supported by the wonderful people in this area and further afield,  we do not have a shop and if funding became out of our range, which it has only ever done in one case then in this particular case MACS took over.

Unlike a number of charities we do not means test, this is a very emotive subject and the committee have always felt that people in their hour of need come to us for help because they need it - I hope this doesnt start another thread about people taking advantage, we hope that our interviewing skills enable us to ensure the money raised is used in the correct way.

We are a fully legal charity Cif no G04787917 and have been running for approx 6 years, we have many clients on our books and hope that they are happy with the assistance we have given them.

If you anyone needs our help, please contact Jean Bircher, our Vice President and Welfare person on 696674456  or myself on 608762748 or email w4lifesweet@btinternet.com

Posters are around the village and other areas saying what we do both in spanish and english. Our current President is Spanish and this helps us to assist the spanish population of Arboloeas etc., also Cecilia from the Arboleas Pharmacy assists us with help with finding accommodation for people who have to stay in Grenada for lengthy treatment as she works closely with the AECC cancer group.

regards, Lynne,
on behalf of
Walk for Life.Arboleas.
