First, get yourself a beer and make yourself comfortable!
Go onto the forum the usual way.
Put your logging in details in.
At the top of the screen there's a box with an upwards pointing arrow.
Press this.
At the bottom of that screen are several options.
Select save to home screen.
It will now be on your home screen and is a short cut. Ta Dah!
All your favourite sites can be saved this way and deleted at any time

Is the forum saved to your home screen, ie it has its own little app. Thats the only way I solved mine.

I've got an iPad mini and when I go to any other page or close down at night and then try to open the Forum I have to log in again despite clicking the stay logged in forever button on the log in page? Any ideas Techies?  Oh it's only just started doing this.
