The court judgments are so varied it is impossible to predict what will happen.

All you can guarantee is that it will all take for ever, be suspended every time someone sprains an eyelash and cost a fortune. However, it will eventually reach a conclusion.

The investigation judge in the so called Operacion Costurero corruption case in Zurgena has completed a 96 page report and ordered the case sent for trial.
The trial will address 300 charges relating to corruption in a public office, negotiations prohibited for public officials, falsifying official documents, bribery, planning crimes, disobedience etc. Those accused include the former mayor and serving planning councillor, ex councillors from all parties, promoters, business people, architects and public servants.

Candido Trabalon, the former mayor, faces penalties of 180 years in jail and 1,050 years of disbarment from public office. Bail has been set at 571,000 euros.
Commenting to Cadena Sur yesterday Sr. Trabalon described the charges as 'very harsh' and indicated that he had no plans to step down from his position as planning councillor. He stated that he was the subject of 'political persecution'
