On Friday 5th October the Computer Club will be holding another of their popular free Open Days, at Rumores in Albox, both to meet new interested people and as an introduction to a new series of "Beginners Basics" lessons. It will open at 10:

Open days offer an opportunity to meet the club members and find out what to expect in both the beginners and regular members meetings.

On show will be a variety of computer types and software, including at least one Tablet computer, a computer running Linux (an open and free Operating System), an eBook reader and a Raspberry Pi – a new breed of tiny cheap computers with a serious purpose. Plus a dissembled desktop tower to show what's actually inside a typical computer along with a table showing the work we do refurbishing computers for reuse by charities and deserving families. We will also have a system running the new Windows 8, shortly to be available on new systems.

Those interested can enrol for the "Beginners Basics" course that will start on October 12th, at 1:15 pm, also at Rumores, full details and will be available on the day.
