CAMPAING PRESENTATION/ PRESENTACIÓN DE CAMPAÑA

Dear citizens:

We are coming to the end of a legislative term, alter four years of working on behalf of our town and our citizens, a period which has been really complicated, full of problems and a continuous search for Solutions and means of adapting the town to the times to come. A period of changein many ways, both outside and inside the Town Hall, the latter which we have tried to overcome with dedication and support to our citizens.
   
In the pasat 10 years our town has seen an increase in population of over 100%, with residents dispersed between various urbanisations and residential areas, and with a cultural diversity vhich has meant we have all had to make an effort to adapt to the changes, but this has enriched our culture and we must emphasise this and try to make it understood to some who are not of the same opinion.

The Socialist Party wishes to take advantage of this space to inform you of its administration, its future projects and its team and, especially, refute the disinformation, unfounded accusations and attempts to discredit both the party and individuals that we have suffered, and which have been levied by both individuals and opposing political parties.

This Administration has given constant evidence to citizens and to opposition parties of the transparency of their government, and to be working in the public interest, and anyone who accuses us of anything else must do so bringing forward proof, verifiable information and not just base accusations on unfounded opinions to generate confusion, because all information has been and will continue to be at the disposal of all citizens for inspection and verification.

Nonetheless, once such questions have been clarified, we wish to make clear that we are in favour of a campaign based on the work already undertaken, what we envisage for the future, and the personal and professional value of those of us who are presenting ourselves at the elections, avoiding wherever possible having to enter into debates which are unrelated to the public interest, because we think that this is not the right road for the future development of our town, because a political agenda based on common sense and support between individuals and parties is the only way forward and we want to return to this, having agreement and understanding between all persons who will represent our citizens. For this reason we are not prepared to enter into sensationalist or non-productive arguments or debates: this we will leave to those who prefer to make their campaigns into a battleground, into which we are not interested in entering.

Our work will be based on common sense, attending to the public interest and, as is necessary for a party with the responsibility of government and which is aspiring to reattain its majority, being sensible with our campaign promises, because we know we will have to make good on those promises. We understand that in this respect any sensationalist, personal, or utterly improbable or unfeasible promises should be considered as simply an attempt to scratch up votes, from those who have nothing to lose, as they do not have the responsibility of compliance and government. And, do not doubt it, we will hear plenty of those during this coming campaign!

As such, we are looking to be constructive, clarify the truth of matters, and present our plans for the next few years. We understand that because our work and dedication back us up, and that we have a lot to offer, we do not have nor do we wish to enter into mudslinging matches: we will simply defend our administration, our capacity for hard work and the legitimacy and dedication of our team and staff.

Estimados vecinos y vecinas:

Nos encontramos al final de una legislatura, al final de un periodo de cuatro años de trabajo para nuestro pueblo y para nuestros vecinos que han sido realmente complicados, llenos de  problemas y en una continua búsqueda de soluciones y recursos para adaptar este pueblo a los tiempos que se nos vienen encima. Un periodo de cambios  en muchos aspectos, tanto en los externos al Ayuntamiento, como en los cambios internos que hemos ido superando con dedicación y apoyo de nuestros vecinos.

En los últimos 10 años nuestro pueblo se ha enfrentado a un incremento de población de mas del 100%, con sus habitantes dispersos en barriadas y una diversidad cultural que ha supuesto un esfuerzo de adaptación por parte de todos, pero también un enriquecimiento cultural que debemos de cuidar y hacérselo entender a quienes no comparten esa idea.

Desde este espacio, el partido Socialista pretende dar a conocer su gestión, sus proyectos para el futuro y su equipo de trabajo, y como no, salir al paso de las desinformaciones, acusaciones e intentos de desprestigio que estamos sufriendo por parte de otras personas y partidos interesados en este proceso electoral.

Este  gobierno ha dado muestras continuas a los ciudadanos  y los grupos de la oposición de la transparencia en su gestión, y de trabajar por el interés general, y quien nos acuse de lo contrario debería de hacerlo aportando datos, información verificable y no opiniones infundadas para generar confusión, porque esta información ha estado y sigue estando al alcance de todos los vecinos.

No obstante, y una vez aclaradas estas cuestiones, queremos dejar claro que somos partidarios de una campaña basada en el trabajo que se ha realizado, en el que se piensa realizar en el futuro, y el valor personal y profesional de los que nos presentamos a estas elecciones, evitando en todo lo posible entrar en debates que no afecten al interés general, porque creemos que este camino no es el adecuado para el desarrollo futuro de nuestro pueblo, porque una política de sentido común y apoyo entre personas y partidos estuvo presente en nuestro pueblo hasta hace poco menos de cuatro años, y pretendemos volver al camino del consenso y el buen entendimiento entre las personas que representan a nuestros ciudadanos es por lo que no vamos a entrar en enfrentamientos improductivos y sensacionalistas. Eso lo dejamos para los que quieren hacer de sus campañas un campo de batalla al que no vamos a entrar.

Trabajaremos desde el sentido común, atendiendo a los intereses generales, y como corresponde a un partido con responsabilidad de gobierno, y que aspira a revalidar esa mayoría, siendo sensatos en nuestras promesas, puesto que sabemos que nos veremos obligados a cumplirlas. Entendemos en este sentido que las promesas sensacionalistas,  personalistas, o fuera de lugar por irrealizables, o simplemente por no estar al alcance de los ayuntamientos, deben de quedar en eso, promesas a la desesperada por arañar votos, promesas del que no tiene nada que perder, puesto que no tiene responsabilidad de gobierno. Y de eso, no les quepa duda, escucharemos bastante en esta campaña.

Por eso, desde este espacio pretenderemos ser constructivos, aclarar la verdad, y presentar nuestro proyecto para los próximos años. Porque entendemos que nuestro trabajo nos avala y tenemos mucho que ofrecer, no tenemos que recurrir a discursos fuera de lugar, sencillamente defenderemos nuestra gestión, nuestra capacidad de trabajo y la legitimidad y dedicación de nuestras personas.
