If you speak to your legal representative, they should be able to clarify but in an effort to assist, all Spanish Banks need to see evidence of your income / origen of funds - this is quite simply a requirement of the money laundering and fiscal fraud legislation that Spanish banks have to adhere too.
Your last P60 forms, payslips  or Pension statements (if applicable) should suffice
I hope this helps

We are currently purchasing a villa in Albox through a local agent and using a local solicitor to whom we have given power of attorney. This was all set up in October last whe we put a deposit on said villa.
We are just about to pay the 10% deposit and the solicitor has asked for our P.60's to open a bank acct for us to transfer money into. We do not have current ones, I send over pictures of what we have but they are not current. We are below the tax threshold. The  total funds to purchased the villa have been lodged with a broker since last Nov,
.
We are booked to arrive to take possession of villa on 8th Feb, complete with dogs,
What exactly is required to open a Spanish bank acct, we thought had already been set up. Could we go to Santander here and just set one up to complete this transaction? Then organise a local bank when we get to Albox.
Now it is not possible for us to fly over, and we have ferry booked for 6th Feb.
Sorry it's long but this email has just arrived in our lap
