You never have to run the pump 24/7 - we didn't run our pump any more than if it had no cover at all. If a summer cover last 4-5 years that's good going - all the little plastic bubbles start floating away when the thing is past its sell by date. We don't have one now, but will buy one again at some stage in the future. It's too damn cold without one. Heats the water up beautifully.

We are thinking of getting a solar cover for the pool, but I read somewhere that you need to run the pump with the cover 24/7??? And also that after 4-5 years the cover needs to be re-placed?
Anybody has any experience with these covers?? Thanks for an answer. Tina
