Thanks Shirley for a comprehensive answer.

Queen Clare Shirley

This was the excuse cooked up by the Mayor it has no truth to it what so ever, the Mayor had decided well before then to move it, he claims its for security reasons but the Head of the Guardia Civil in Albox did not ask for it to be moved and they are happy with their location and stance in regards to the market.

The Mayor has commited a booboo , he didnt study or research the idea, neither was it put to vote, which means he is becoming a Dictator, the same as when the Fenoy school closed all the PSOE councillors wanted to find a solution but nope he wanted it gone.

His plan to move was shown up in the most dramatic and hilarious way, the vendors turned up they didn't set up because they were protesting and to show that there wasnt enough room in the Recinto Ferial to house them, let them set up and sell.

The Mayor is now alone in the town hall twiddling his fingers while he tries to find a solution to the fact that all the PSOE councillors resigned their posts in protest of the Mayor stripping Tito of Deputy Mayor and his job in the townhall, they will resume their posts if he reinstates Tito, ensures that those councillors are allowed to work their posts correctly and that things are done democratically

I await the answer with bated breath

Another story going the rounds is that it is a security measure beacause of the Catalan situation. The Guardia Civil offices are by the fruit and veg market. Any ideas Maura?

We noticed that the fruit and veg at the market was missing yesterday. As we understand it the Mayor wants them to move to a new spot and they do not.
We usually meet up with friends for a drink at the Why Not bar before going to lunch. The ladies like to get their fruit an veg at the same time so would be inconvenient to go somewhere else around the Parilla area as this is already very busy. We also can see local businesses losing trade, the Why Not is usually heaving lunchtime but yesterday was almost empty both in and out.
