Ours is a Britax and we change every 6 months, you can tell it wants changing as the taste of the water changes. They are around 50 euros. Hope this helps.

We change ours once a year.  Have been here 6 and a half years, and not been ill yet.  But I also drink water out of the ordinary tap!   :104:
