Just received email from currencies for you in the Uk which I use to transfer funds from English bank to Spanish account advising me that all transaction will now incur a cost of £10 if under £1500.00.
Anyone know of a better firm to use as a tenner seems a bit heavy to me.

Don't too hung up about overt charges.  Just because they charge you £10 for a transfer doesn't necessarily mean you get a bad deal.  Other dealers will have "no charges" but just offer a poorer rate.  Alternatively you can have a firm like Transferwise that appears to  have quite high charges (£45 on a £9000 transfer) but gives a better rate than some others so the end result is more Euros for you.  The thing to go on is how many Euros do I get for my pounds (most online brokers will give you that) rather than what their charges are or what their "rate" is.  However, FYI Transferwise´s charge on a £1,500 transfer is £7.46.

Transferwise gives the best exchange rate: see

Furthermore, if you go to Transferwise through the following link, there will be no charges for the first £500 which you transfer: https://transferwise.com/u/anthonyd42.

And it can be done simply using your UK bank debit card: then the recipient's bank account receives the €'s two days before the £'s leave your UK bank account!

What could be better?
