IF we can set up our own system it will avoid many people finding they owe a fortune becuse they have never received a bill.
And the Consorcio has done NOTHING to chase the debt until they embargo your account.
WHY?
Because a large debt showing on the balance sheet, including interest, allows then to borrow money against the debt.
For the same reason they leave people on the debtors register who have long since sold their house.
In Mojacar most of the bars on the front do not pay because the debt is on the owner, who is often a Russian millionaire.
But the debt is there, and we all pay too much to compensate.

As for financial control? There is none because the auditor is family.

BASURAS CONSORCIO CONFLICT

The Consorcio is the public agency which collects household rubbish for 46 towns in the area. There is an election for the President by the representatives of the towns following the local elections every 4 years.
Following the 2015 elections the PSOE should have had a majority, and moved to replace the PP President. However the President refused to take a vote in accordance with the constitution, and declared that the PP would retain control.
The case went to Court and after 18 months the proceedings were declared illegal.

Last Friday there was a re-run of the vote, but the PP retained control.
This is because in the 18 months there were attempts by the PP to overthrow local PSOE Mayors. They were unsuccessful in Albox, but partially successful in Velez Rubio and Cuevas de Almanzora.

Why is all this so important?
The PSOE claim that the PP is using public money to create a slush fund for political advantage, the money coming from the Consorcio.
The PSOE want to open the accounts, which they claim is being used to pay inflated salaries to friends and family.
There is no doubt that the Consorcio is in massive debt, with a belief that the balance sheet shows uncollectable debt to make the accounts look acceptable.
There is also the claim that the PP run Diputacion is complicit in this.

PSOE claim that the mismanagement of the Consorcio results in the house owners paying more than they should, for political benefit.

As a result PSOE Mayors are moving to leave the Consorcio.

Same shxt diffrent day......id be happy with a bill every 1/4..... as it is i will make my anual pilgramage to the dippy office in Hercual overa and pay my 12 monthly bill plus a small fine for 1/4 late payments.....on bills that were never issued.
