Although not in the Almanzora Valley itself, the Church of San Pasqual de Baylon at Agua de Enmedio is the 'Parish' Church for this area; a vast parish, about the size of Wales, covering an area stretching from Adra in the South West, along the coast to Carthagena and inland to Baza and beyond.

The Church can be found by taking the road along the Playa from Mojácar towards Carboneras. After leaving the built-up area, travel on for about 4 kms. Whilst alongside the new Golf Course at Macenas, turn right into the small village of El Agua de Enmedio and the church is two hundred metres up on the hill on the right. There is ample unrestricted street parking and room for a few cars on the church site for people who may find the steps a little too difficult. Turn right onto the unmade road after the high wall, then sharp right again up the hill.

When travelling from the south (Carboneras), we are about 2kms on the left past the village of Sopalmo.

There is a Service of Holy Eucharist every Sunday at this Church at 11:00 am, usually followed by Coffee in the Sun.


Services are also held each Sunday morning at 11:00 am at the Church in Llanos del Peral, near Cucador and on the second Sunday of each month at 6:00 pm at Aljambra Chapel in Albox.  There are also Services of Holy Communion at 12:00 on the third Thursday of each Month at Burty's Bar in Roquetas and at 11:00 am on the last Thursday of each Month at Aljambra in Albox.
