Simon from Advance Digital to the rescue again!
My laptop was not well. He came to look at that and as a by the way I asked him about my portable hard drive which told me that a fatal error had occurred and could not be fixed. Simon fixed it!  It contained my entire music collection (which I hadn't backed up) so was very precious to me.
He also fixed the laptop.
