For those of you who are a bit "unsure", can I say that we have just spent an excellent three night stay at the Hotel Asur via Cat Services/Total Entertainment/Essentials - well done guys. :clap:

Hotel Asur is a short walk (15 minutes for those without walking problems) from the border to Gibraltar (or a €4.50 taxi ride - probably got ripped off with that!).

Over the border there are regular buses to the centre of Gibraltar costing €2 (or less for "Pensionistas"). I suggest staying on the bus (No. 5) to the last stop and either walk back down the main shopping street (to the left) or right to the cable car and the monkeys! Or, even better, got down to the new Marina (Queensway quay) and sample the lovely bars/restaurants.

If you want to go on a tour, stop at the border (Tourist Information) and organise one there, or be prepared to haggle with the highly aggressive mini-bus operators (time-share touts eat your hearts out!) near the cable car......

And, if you like a flutter, the Casino near the border is excellent (there is a free bus which will take you from the border to the Casino and back every fifteen minutes from 6.00pm - apparently - :whistle:).

The hotel is clean and tidy and the staff are friendly. Food is fine, although not "fine dining" for you Arboleans (you get what you pay for), but you will not go hungry. Wine is included with the evening meal. Bar is no more expensive than you would expect for a hotel.

I have absolutely no affiliation with the organisers of this trip, but if you want a pre-Xmas treat (and a few cheap fags) then I would highly recommend this.

As you can see I have modified the post to say that tickets can only be bought from me as there seemed to be problems with some of the staff not knowing that tickets were for sale in the cafe. As a one off, i will be organising a trip to Gibraltar on 18 December till 20 December staying at Hotel Asur on a half board basis. The price is 135 euros pp.
On Saturday 19th there is a Queen tribute band playing in Casemates square in Gibraltar which is free of charge. Pickup points are:
