The SE may be the most heavily subsidised area of the UK but on the other hand, rail commuters in Southern England are paying £1 billion a year n fares to help keep trains running in the north, Scotland and Wales.

PAULT

Cannot argue with it!!!!
Unpaid tax in the UK £34 billion.
Unpaid benefits in the UK £15 billion.
95% of wealth held by 1% of population
Death duties only paid by the middle classes.
Billionaires/ millionaires the Royals and their like pay NO death duties.
Cutting benefits will mean that people in the South East of the UK will have to pay a true price for services.
The South East is more heavily subsidised than any other area in the country.
Withdraw tax credits and the rich will have to pay a proper wage to the staff they employ at a subsidised  rate.
The South East is mainly run on the service industry.
E.G. selling services to one another but not really making anything.
Guess where the biggest outcry is coming from because of the reduction of benefit.

The problem is the human race itself.
Democracy doesn't work because it is run by greedy, self serving humans.
Communism, in it's purest form would work, but it is run by greedy, self serving humans.
That leaves machines, but they are built by greedy, self serving humans.

give benefits then make them work for it in the jobs councils & government either can't afford or don't want to offer

the lazy, scrounging scum bags would soon get off their fat ar*ses & find proper employment of their choice

but first you have to remove the mind state of the benifit babe,ie get the kids into school and pay them on results,ie end of year stat tests ,20 quid for a pass 50 quid for over 85 % ,basikly  teach kids to roll the dice and reward them, then within 20 years the country will be able to compeat with the best, and for  the non acedemic ,teach them hand skills,ie buiding, cooking, engineering ect

when i was 17 i was really stuggling with education as i never whent to school after 13 apart from the od day,my training manger said, you either book up son at night school or we dont get the apprentice grant for you from the training board, get stuck in and you might get the apprentice of the year in 3 years time.

i got stuck in   :)

Good post Tetley. When I became a higher rate taxpayer, I was over the moon and was very happy to pay my taxes. Even now I'm retired, provided the poorer in society are looked after I'm happy to pay my taxes. What I'm not happy with is financing low pay, so that the fat cat multinational corporations can get fatter on the billions they steal and accumulate (aided by gov.uk).
We're not talking £100,000 a year earners and taxpayers here, we're talking billionaires and sharing wealth a bit fairer.
Imagine all the billionaires losing half their fortune, Do you imagine they would be any poorer for it? :tiphat:

A friend recently e-mailed the following to me :

1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for , another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government has not taken from anybody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them; and when the other half gets the idea that it is no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.

My friend is right wing and a higher rate tax payer. I agree with all of the above ! The abuse of its benefits system has been the ruination of once Great Britain .

What do the Arbiland folks think ?

all the above has been manged by uk governments since the 70,s because they carnt afford cival unrest by the have nowts

,our high rate tax payers im sure would rather carry on funding the pot less, than be getting dragged out of the Mercs at the traffic lights and been removed of there good & chattles.

this is why they saved the banks in 2008,because they couldent police the savers  riots .

at the end of the day,the UK  needs to re introduce" Made In Great Britton" and start flying union jacks from every building and teach kids they can rule the world as Obarma in the USA has done from humble beginnings.
