Ray and Dave reunited at Islington Town Hall last night for first time since 1996.

Only played You Really Got Me with Daves band, but the fans went wild, a few I know who were there told me.

That was great, thanks for posting.Good to see that they are at least on talking terms after all these years.Ray's voice is shot now though.Last year at Cartagena he had a dig at his brother but he put on a great show.

Yes! I definitely agree with you about Sunny Afternoon.

Gotta say it is the best musical stage show I have ever seen.

Next best thing to seeing the Kinks play live.

Have to say that Ray, Dave,  Mick ,and maybe bass player John Dalton would be great to see live, but the voices and the on stage energy  is just not going to be the same as all those years ago.

We went to see Ray Davies at Cartagena in the audotorium above the Roman theatre earlier in the year. The voice has gone but it was still fantastic.
Earlier in the day we could hear rehearsals right across the city as the opening riff from "You Really Got Me" sent shivers up my spine.
we saw Sunny Afternoon last January....great.

Just come across this early clip, and also one from Iceland in 1964.
A guy I know from Iceland ,was in front row as a 13 year old waving a flag. He said it was September14th 1964 and not in 1965 as stated on the video.

Half of the songs in the stage show Sunny Afternoon are album tracks and other half are the big hits.

While looking for a decent video or audio of  'Rock and Roll Fantasy' , this little gem came up.

Don't believe all you hear about the punch ups and not getting on at all well.

Looking at this clip they did  get on  now and then..............................on a good day probably.

Seen this stage show a few times now and had the pleasure of a brief chat with Ray Davies just before Sunny Afternoon was due to start on the last performance by the original  cast a couple of weeks ago.

Still a great show with the new cast.    :drinks:
